If you are having IV Sedation or General Anesthesia you must follow these instructions:
- No food or drink, including water, may be taken for 8 hours prior to surgery.
- You MUST have someone drive you to the office and STAY during your treatment.
- It is MANDATORY to have someone at home to care for you on the day of surgery for a minimum of 4 hours.
- Do not drive for at least 24 hours after surgery or at any time while taking prescribed pain medication.
- Brush your teeth before reporting to the office for surgery.
- Any patient under 18 years of age must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
- Wear a short sleeved garment that is loose fitting around the arms and neck and tennis shoes or “tie” type of shoes. No sandals or heels.
- Please remove contact lenses before coming to the office for surgery.
- Remove bracelets, watches, large earrings and facial piercings before surgery.
- If you have asthma and use an inhaler, please bring it with you on the day of surgery and follow any pre-operative instructions given by the doctor and staff.
- Have on hand the day of surgery some clear soup broth, soft foods, ibuprofen, and ice packs.
